Is Breathedge 2 Multiplayer?
No. The current Early Access game is single-player only. It does not include online co-op, local co-op, split screen, or a human party system.
One player; the crew are story NPCs
Steam lists Single-player, and Xbox product data also identifies the mode as SinglePlayer. Steam Cloud, Family Sharing, and controller support are platform features, not multiplayer modes.

How the crew works
Manage characters, not player slots
The store description refers to managing a crew and looking after the Chicken. Those are narrative and gameplay relationships with characters inside the single-player campaign; another person cannot join the save to control them.
Future updates mention story, areas, mechanics, characters, equipment, transport, and building. They do not currently make a multiplayer commitment.
